Reminisce. Memory is one of your most powerful tools as you help your ex-boyfriend see the light. Remember that time you first started dating and his grandmother accidentally shut your hand in a door? Probably not, because that’s one of my memories, but the two of you undoubtedly have a treasure trove of happy, funny or romantic memories from the times when your relationship was strong and exciting. Help him remember those memories as well, but bring them up only at times when mentioning them would seem totally organic. You don’t want the nostalgia to seem forced.
My boyfriend and I got into a fight. He got arrested and charged. I understand that he’s very upset about that. I’m upset about it too. He moved some of his stuff out and staying at his mom’s house. He has depression really bad and now his even more depressed. I didn’t want him home until I knew it was safe for him to come home. We both said we are together but just taking a breather. He is so depressed that he quit his job, drinking and being neglectful. We will text great one day and talked about our issues. Everything seems great then the next day nothing. I picked him up one night he was shaking and have lost a lot of weight (it’s only been 2 weeks). We had a great night. The next more he got upset thinking that my kids didn’t want him around they are happy without him. My kids are really confused right now. I got him to eat and shower ect. Took him back to his mom ( not wanting to). We texted and I admit to my faults and mean it. He said he forgives me bit I broke him for what I said when I was angry and I said the same to him. But deep down I knew he was only mad but longer he stays away I’m starting to believe what he says. Now the next day no answer.. I know he has low self esteem issues and depression. He won’t take his name of the lease agreement and tells me he’s coming back. I’m starting to believe he’s playing games even though he’s not the type but being around his family he might have changed.. How long should I wait before shutting his phone off and car insurance. I’m not sure if he wants to be together or not. HELP PLEASE!!!
A breakup is a very emotional and painful thing to go through. Probably all you want to do just now is to curl up on the couch, eat ice cream, and feel sorry for yourself. (And honestly, who wouldn’t!).
Hi, my ex broke up with me a while ago. We went full no contact for about 8 weeks and then he finally texted me to catch up. We talked for about a month, hooked up a couple times, and he was treating/talking to me as if we were a couple. I want to get back together. So I’ve told him I still have feelings for him and eventually want to get back together. I know he still has feelings for me but he says he doesn’t know what he wants (We’re also doing long distance so this is a big reason of why he doesn’t know). I told him a week ago I can’t be just friends anymore so I went into no contact again. Was this the right move? I want him to realize he does want to get back together and be more that friends. Should I have just stayed friends and waited? Or was it smart to go no contact again!!
I googled this and found zero! My ex-husband continues to reach out to befriend by ex-boyfriends. I know it has no impact on my life, but me and my children find it to be very odd, especially because when I was dating my boyfriend(s), he talked bad about them. ?? Someone please explain…

I just preached like an angry coach but when it comes to keeping ANYONE in your life that broke your heart, was dishonest and disrespected you, I clearly get fired up. I care about you all and If I can help one person avoid the mistakes I’ve made, then writing this was worth it.
Many people don’t realize that a large majority of the pain they experience during a break-up has nothing to do with the relationship they really had. Relationships always end for a reason. It is rarely a complete surprise because things generally haven’t been going well for a while. There is often a long list of what each person did or didn’t do that led to all the fighting and hurt feelings. Most people don’t want back the relationship they actually had. What they mourn for is the relationship they thought they could have had if things had just been different. But the truth is, that relationship didn’t exist. Letting go of a dream can be painful. When the relationship first started there were expectations set for what it could be based on the good things that seemed to be unfolding at the time. Almost all relationships are great in the beginning—otherwise they would have never started—but the whole of a relationship is what it was from beginning to end.
Let her or him go like i did. When my pain was so fresh i learnt how to forget i was on drugs but suddenly someone came to my life and everything has changed so all i can say is let them go and open your heart even its the hardest step
Try to not think about it, surround yourself with things that will make you forget. Hang out with friends or watch a video that could make your forget. I understand that it is hard to get over something like this. But try doing something that could help you forget or something that could make you feel happy.
Hey,my long distance boyfriend just broke up with me after an ugly fight. He is working and I am a final year student. He thinks that I am not serious about my career and so instead of being with him, I should focus on that. But I am not able to get over him. I am working pretty well in my career but he doesn’t understand. Also, he always comes up with an excuse of not having time as he is busy with his office stuff. But as I said, I love him a lot. I am going to his city next week for an interview. Please suggest me if I should meet him and fix things or not.
An unfailing recipe for success, or an unhealthy blueprint for obsession? If life has taught me one thing, it’s that trying too hard to plot the course of your life results in totally unexpected developments. Nobody ever said love was easy, but it’s virtually impossible to sustain a loving relationship if its success requires you to be someone you’re not. So I would offer this as a final two-part suggestion: don’t try too hard, and always be yourself. And don’t forget to read up on dating and boyfriend advice on leading dating blogs and dating forums. May all your pursuits be fruitful!
No matter how miserable you are, you absolutely have to get out of the house. If you stay inside, with all those memories and all those reminders, you’ll only make yourself feel worse. Even if you feel like crawling in bed for yet another week…don’t.
– Don’t have sex until you know what’s going on. Keeping the physical connection going will cloud judgment and keep you from seeing the situation as it is. It will also distract you from dealing with the real issues you need to be thinking about if you’re going to give it another go-around.
You want to be negative and whine? That’s fine… but do it somewhere else. The rest of the people here actually want good results in their life, not a platform to anonymously whine about what they think is fair.
While that strategy might have been effective for Sparks, it’s probably not a sure fix for everyone. So to find out just how long it really takes to get over an ex, we asked these women to share their post-breakup timelines and how they successfully moved on.
In this case, should i inform her that I would not contact her for a while, or still answer her calls but keep the conversation to general topics and avoid getting to serious topics? Or should I just ignore her (and might push her more away)?
Luckily, since I have determined that this is an essential part of the strategy I have spent a lot of time refining my strategy for it and have even recorded entire podcast episodes over it here (link) and here (link.)
After breakup you are most vulnerable to display insecurity and neediness to your boyfriend. Therefore, when your boyfriend around you it doesn’t matter how much harder you try you still send signals for neediness and insecurity.
Arriving at that moment is the hard part. It takes time, patience, and many individual steps. Some of these steps can be tricky, and you’ll need to tread very carefully to avoid making the wrong moves and bad decisions that will destroy any chance of a reunion. Making just one big mistake during the reconciliation process could undo weeks of repair, and there’s always the chance you might lose him forever. Getting back with an ex requires you to be extremely cautious with what you do, what you say, and exactly how you act around him post-breakup.
Pinpoint the reason not because you want to think of your relationship negatively but because you want to open up your heart to heal and forget. Regardless of the reason, your goal is to think about whether you can start with a clean slate.
“You’re still kind of creeping them on social media and maybe you share common friends,” Tebb explains. “You haven’t removed them from your Facebook and you haven’t removed the old photos of you as a couple. You can’t get over your ex because you haven’t removed them fully from your life.”
Since you are reading these words I know you are interested in getting over your ex boyfriend. You have already made a choice on your first major fork in the road and didn’t even realize it. You were faced with two choices after your breakup with your ex boyfriend:
Commit to having a better relationship. If your ex-boyfriend takes you back, you both need to take steps to make sure that the same problems that caused your last breakup will not interfere with your relationship again. Talk to each other about what kinds of conflicts you have had in the past and how you could deal with them more appropriately going forward.
One important thing – make a call to your ex instead of leaving a message. Call once or twice a day and if you don’t get a response then don’t give up. Make sure you keep your voice smooth and gentle when asking for a coffee/lunch.
Why is this the easiest? Well it’s not as hard as other circumstances, like for instance getting a girl back from another guy. You only broke up due to distance, meaning that the attraction she feels for you is still present. In fact it might even have increased, since women get off on desiring what they can’t have (you). Even if it seems impossible, it can be done.
We met at age 14, had a child (who passed)after birth, we both married others, had great lives and children, got divorced and met again, and married after almost 10 years of the most sincerely satisfying, loving, chemical, and tumultuous love I will ever know.
My situation is a little different than most, we’ve been together for 5 years and he’s currently in the military now, he just ended things, with multiple reasoning but the last one was him saying he didn’t have time for a girlfriend nor did he want one. It’s been a week since we broke up and also a week of NC, I haven’t reached out, but is this going to work, is he really going to miss me even with us being so far away and his schedule being so hectic?? Please someone give me some advice… [otp_overlay]
