Reminisce. Memory is one of your most powerful tools as you help your ex-boyfriend see the light. Remember that time you first started dating and his grandmother accidentally shut your hand in a door? Probably not, because that’s one of my memories, but the two of you undoubtedly have a treasure trove of happy, funny or romantic memories from the times when your relationship was strong and exciting. Help him remember those memories as well, but bring them up only at times when mentioning them would seem totally organic. You don’t want the nostalgia to seem forced.
However, this post isn’t about poor me and all the boys that have broken my heart. Over the last few years I’ve received many emails from women all over the world, pouring out their hearts about some guy that dumped them. They tell me everything they did for this guy, that they are so broken hearted and they end the email with “please help me, what should I do?”
That varies from person to person. Common choice are – channeling your energy into your hubbies like painting etc; taking up a new class; spending more time with your friends; travelling solo; working on yourself; pampering yourself; hitting the gym; dating someone new; doing some volunteer work; blowing off some steam; seeing a specialist if it gets too much to bear
Sometimes we’re just so aware of how we’re acting and the intentions we bring across that whatever we do becomes unnatural. It’s important to be yourself at the end of the day and build up a bond without such ‘motives’ in mind. Remember how he fell for you the very first time. It wasn’t because of motives but simply two people who connected and liked each other. That’s how you should be going about things.

Ok I read your post and while it helps me a little, I think my issue is a little deeper. I have a child with my EX and we have now been divorced for 10 years. We still talk friendly but everytime I think Im finally over him and let him go, He calls me and tells me that one of his friends saw a picture of me i guess on his FB and asked him if they could call me. He said no and threatened to kick this guys a**. After every conversation we have about my daughter or anything really he will tell me he loves me before we hang up. i have repeatedly told him and asked him to stop telling me that but he continues to do it cause he says he still does love me. He left me and our brand new baby at the time for some little 18 year old that he is still with today. I cant seem to get him out of my mind, no matter what I do. Im with someone else and we have twins together. I feel so bad and ashamed of myself. I just cant get over him. WHAT DO I DO?? Ive tried praying, Ive tried thinking about the pain he caused me and my daughter who wasnt given the chance to make a memory of her dad before he left us. I need help.

I was with my ex for 5 years. I broke up with him 6 months ago when I came to realize that I needed to work on my self confidence and he to work on his ability to show emotions. I applied NC without realizing it. He eventually reached out once per month in a friendly way, but nothing more than that.
Take down the photos hanging on your bulletin board and stick all the gifts they bought you for Valentine’s Day, your birthday, and those handful of days when they messed up royally and put them in the trash. Even if your favorite t-shirt that you still wear all the time was theirs, or you don’t think you’re ready to dump the handful of love letters you have saved in your drawer, giving away the old only makes room for the new.
Thanks for replying, if she is a grass is greener kind of thing, would that mean that she is unlikely a rebound? When he had the conversation with me he said he still had feelings for me but he was tired of missing me and being lonely and just really wanted both of us to move on as this wasn’t healthy anymore.
